TRACY ROSOF-PETERSEN
Clay Artist

BIOGRAPHY

Tracy Rosof-Petersen
Tracy is a native Floridian, raised in Palm Beach County. In 1990, after her university years and travel abroad, Tracy returned to Florida, founded her Lake Worth pottery studio and began pursuing a career in clay. EarthArtists Clay Studio is now in its 20th year of existence. Working with the Center for Creative Education (CCE) in West Palm Beach Florida, since 1995, Tracy has become a certified teaching artist in curriculum based ”Arts Integration”. Ms. Rosof-Petersen continues to work from her home-studio, collaborating on public art projects, offering custom architectural ceramics, clay repair and instruction.
STATEMENT: “As my career in the visual arts unfolds, I find myself drawn to diverse projects in clay that afford me an opportunity of creative learning. I continue to grow as an artist and human as I research concepts and ideas to be translated into a visual format. Through clay, I can express abstract feelings of strength, power, freedom, oppression etc. As a woman, I am influenced by the reoccurring struggle between empowerment and powerlessness in our society. The challenge for me comes in creating a piece that will have sustainability in materials, emotional substance and will, in the end, celebrate our humanness.”
